How 12th Pass Students Can Earn ₹40,000/month Comfortably from Home
1. Content Creation for Brands (Beginner-Friendly)
This is slightly more suited for girls, but boys can also do it – don’t get demotivated.
-
This isn’t about becoming a YouTuber or influencer.
-
If you want quick money, don’t start content creation for yourself – India already has 35 lakh content creators, but only 5 lakh earn anything, and just 1% earn enough to live off of it.
-
Instead, create content for startups and small businesses.
Why this works:
-
New startups are launching everywhere.
-
They don’t have big budgets for professional production teams.
-
All they need is simple videos explaining their services.
-
If you can sit in front of a camera and talk confidently, you’re in demand.
One client doesn’t just want one video – they’ll usually want 4–5 videos for their whole marketing funnel. With just 3 clients per month, you can easily earn ₹15,000–₹30,000 or more.
What you need:
-
Basic presentation skills.
-
A green screen (₹2000–₹3000).
-
Some editing skills (or hire an editor).
-
Reach out to startups via Instagram, LinkedIn, or networking.
2. Cloud Kitchen from Home (Highly Profitable Initially)
While researching, I met Sumit from Indore, a B.Tech second-year student. Here’s what he does:
-
Attends college until 4 PM.
-
Comes home, cooks a big batch of biryani.
-
Starts selling on Zomato and Swiggy via a cloud kitchen from 5 PM to 11 PM.
-
Keeps operations simple with just one product.
-
Runs ads and fulfills orders.
-
After food cost and ads, he still earns ₹35,000–₹50,000/month in just 6 hours a day.
Then there’s Priyanka from Hisar, who doesn’t even know how to cook. She:
-
Buys readymade momos, steams them, and sells them on Swiggy/Zomato.
-
Runs operations 5–6 hours a day.
-
Earns ₹25,000–₹30,000/month.
Why this works:
-
Still low competition.
-
Start from your home kitchen.
-
Cost: just ₹5000–₹7000 for licenses and basic packaging.
-
You don’t need fancy utensils or equipment.
Note: This is tough to do from a hostel or PG. That’s why I’ve added a third idea just for students like you.
3. Dropshipping of Services (High-Profit Business – ₹2 Crore+ Potential)
You’ve probably heard of product dropshipping, but this is different. Service dropshipping is easier and more profitable.
What is it?
-
You don’t need to learn any skills like video editing, web design, or marketing.
-
You simply connect clients who need services with freelancers who can deliver.
-
You act as the middleman.
Example:
-
A client pays you ₹10,000 for a video.
-
You get it done for ₹2,000 from a freelancer.
-
You keep ₹8,000 profit – without doing the work yourself.
